Stories from Our Students

Anabella

Anabella won the 2025 Utah Science Fair thanks to her talent and commitment to the environment. She presented two innovative projects made entirely from recycled materials: a fire truck that detects and puts out fires automatically, and a self-driving car that collects trash. Her creativity and problem-solving mindset stood out among the participants. Without a doubt, she is a rising star in science and sustainability.

She has been a student at Club Ability since 2022, where she discovered her passion for programming, with Minecraft Education being her favorite subject. Additionally, she has served as a volunteer in various Club Ability activities.

In recognition of her dedication, we awarded her talent with a laptop. Despite her young age, she has already participated as a speaker at conferences like Triumph in Technology.

Jancarlos is a 14-year-old tech creator born in Utah, the son of Hispanic parents, and bilingual. Despite his young age, he has shown the courage to seize the opportunities that have come his way. Committed and passionate about science and technology, he has been a student at Club Ability since 2020, where he discovered his love for 3D Design. In recognition of his dedication, we awarded his talent with a monitor, a laptop, and a tablet. He participated in the USEF Utah Science and Engineering Fair and, at such a young age, has served as a speaker at conferences like Triumph in Technology.

Ricardo

Ricardo's vision deteriorated due to his work, leading to the loss of one eye and eventually the other. The darkness surrounding him seemed to strip away not just his sight but also his hope.

Thanks to Club Ability, Ricardo found a new opportunity to start again. Here, he learned to use technology, regained his independence, and, motivated by his achievements, decided to keep growing: he enrolled in a Braille course and began English classes.

Today, Ricardo is an example of perseverance. His story reminds us that with support, effort, and a desire to learn, it’s always possible to find light in the darkest moments.

Miriam

Miriam, a mother of premature twins who spent time in the hospital, believed she never received the photos taken of them after their discharge. Everything changed when she joined Club Ability. Here, she learned how to use a computer and email from scratch. It was then that she discovered the photos had been sitting in her inbox for a year. Seeing them filled her with indescribable emotion, as she recovered an invaluable memory. Thanks to Club Ability, Miriam not only learned technology but also reconnected with moments she thought were lost. Her story shows us that learning can truly transform lives.
